Hazel works within the guidance of the Veterinary Act.  The Veterinary Surgery (Exemptions) Order 2015 states that anyone treating an animal with physiotherapy must do so under the direction of a qualified person (registered veterinarian) who has examined the animal and has prescribed treatment of the animal by physiotherapy.  For this reason, we will always contact your vet prior to any new treatment. Most vets are happy to authorise treatments directly with your practitioner by email or phone, however in some cases it may be necessary for your vet to visit your animal prior to a treatment from Equine Health Services if there has been a recent injury resulting in lameness or if they have not seen your animal before.
